Metadata controls the providers used to enrich titles, episodes, artwork, ratings, and trailers. Provider keys are stored server-side and are never displayed in the browser-safe configuration response.

Metadata providers

Provider cards define which sources can enrich titles, episodes, ratings, and artwork.

The provider cards cover these responsibilities:

  • TMDB supplies movie and show details, posters, backdrops, cast, trailers, reviews, recommendations, and related content.
  • TheTVDB supplies TV series identity, seasons, episodes, air dates, and TV artwork.
  • Fanart.tv provides additional poster, logo, and backdrop choices.
  • OMDb supplies optional IMDb rating information.
  • YouTube supports trailer and clip metadata where configured.

Add the key required by the feature you want to use, save it, and reopen a detail page. A missing provider key affects enrichment and artwork; it does not delete the local watch archive.

Refresh metadata

Refresh Metadata revalidates cached provider data after configuration or enrichment changes.

Refresh Metadata pre-caches provider data for the local archive. Use it after adding a provider key, changing provider configuration, or recovering from an incomplete metadata import.

TMDB

TMDB refresh covers movie and show details, artwork, cast, trailers, and related content.

TMDB refresh covers movie and show details, trailers, posters, cast, summaries, and related content. It can be more expensive than refreshing one title from its detail page, so use a focused refresh when only one title is wrong.

TVDB

TVDB refresh covers series structure, season and episode data, air dates, and TV artwork.

TVDB refresh covers TV series details, season and episode schedules, air dates, and TV artwork. It is the structural source for TV numbering and upcoming-episode data.

After a corrected TV match, Plembfin performs the focused metadata refresh and warms the corresponding poster, backdrop, and logo cache before the updated show details are returned.

Refresh jobs may take time on a large archive. Keep Logs available and check the affected library after the operation completes.
