Movies media page

The Movies media page is the detail page for one selected movie. This guide is about the page reached from a movie card, not the Movies library’s search, sorting, or view controls.

For example, a direct movie detail route looks like:

Open a movie media page

Select a movie card in Movies to open its media page. The page keeps the movie’s poster, metadata, watch state, actions, and provider content together.

Movie header and facts

The header can include:

• the poster, backdrop, logo, title, and release date;
• the synopsis and provider ratings;
• sync status and media-server availability;
• provider identifiers and links back to Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin; and
• a Seerr request control when Seerr is connected.

Provider data is shown when it is available. A missing provider result does not remove the local movie record.

Watch status and history

The Watch Status section shows the recorded watch date and completion state. Use its pencil control to edit the watch date. Rewatches remain visible as additional watch history without creating another movie library card.

When a movie is not yet watched, the page can offer Mark watched. A watched movie can be marked unwatched from the page. These actions update the archive and start the normal sync workflow.

Movie actions

Watchlist and custom-list actions

Use Add to watch list to save the movie for later; once saved, the label becomes Remove from watch list. Use Add to custom list to open the list chooser. Existing memberships are shown as Added and the action becomes In custom list. Read the dedicated Watchlist and Custom Lists guides for those pages and workflows.

Personal rating

Use the personal rating control to choose a private score from 1 to 10.

It changes your local rating only; it does not mark the movie watched or alter the provider rating shown under Media facts.

Watch-state action

For a watched movie, Mark Unwatched clears the canonical watched state after confirmation and sends that correction to the configured destinations. Use the Watch Status date control when the movie was watched but the date is wrong.

Tools

The Tools menu is always present on the movie detail page. It contains the following title-scoped workflows:

Force Sync

Choose Force Sync when one movie needs its local watched or resume state replayed, or when that movie’s state should be pulled from a selected destination. It is title-scoped and does not replace the broader tools under Settings → Sync.

For one movie:

1. Open Tools → Force Sync on the detail page.
2. Choose the direction and destination shown by the dialog. Push sends Plembfin’s recorded watched or resume state out; pull imports the selected movie’s state from a connected server.
3. Review the preview before confirming, especially when pushing because remote state can be overwritten.
4. Check the result in Sync Activity.

For wider repairs or source-of-truth operations, use Repair Recent Items, Set Plembfin as Source of Truth, or Import Watched Status under Settings → Sync → Sync tools. The watched threshold and resume minimum are controlled in Sync Tuning.

Info

Choose Info to inspect Watch Status, the latest watched date, destination results, and the audit detail. Use Export to preserve the evidence without changing the movie.

Edit Images

Choose Edit Images when the movie identity is correct but its artwork is not. Select an artwork type, choose a provider result or upload a custom image, and save.

Fix Match

Choose Fix Match when the record is attached to the wrong movie. Compare title, year, and provider details before confirming; use it for identity, not artwork.

Delete

Choose Delete only when the local tracked movie and its history should be removed. Make a verified backup first. Deleting the record does not remove files from Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin.

Trailer and provider actions

When a stored trailer is available, Trailer opens it in the media lightbox. Available on providers and Watch Now links open the matching service or provider destination. Opening a link does not mark the movie watched.

Some actions are conditional on the movie record, provider data, or connected services.

Movie detail sections

When provider data is available, the page can render:

Cast

The Cast section shows credited people with their roles. Select a person to open their biography and filmography without changing the movie record.

Images

The Images gallery displays provider scene artwork. Select a tile to open the lightbox; the gallery is separate from the poster, logo, and background choices in Edit Images.

Trailers & Clips

The Trailers & Clips section lists available provider videos. Select a tile to play it in the media lightbox. Missing videos usually indicate provider data rather than a missing local movie record.

Reviews

The Reviews section shows provider reviews and their scores when configured. Reviews are not the same as your private Rating and do not affect watch state.

Collections and recommendations

The collection and recommendation rails link to related movie or TV detail pages. They are provider suggestions, not additional local library records.

These sections belong to the selected movie. They are not additional library pages.

Appearance

Open Appearance in the sidebar footer while this movie media page is active. The movie-specific switches control which optional sections are rendered:

• Logo Art
• Cast Members
• Trailers & Clips
• Reviews
• Images

Each switch changes presentation only and is saved as an appearance preference. The Dashboard’s history remains Card View by default; its layout is not controlled here.
